Put some veggies into your dessert, and it’s almost a health food!

4 desserts made with vegetables

Ok, adding a vegetable to dessert may not make it a health food, but it’s fun to wish these things. Health food debate aside, I find these desserts to be extra yummy because of the inclusion of a veggie. Give one a try, and see what I mean.

Pumpkin Walnut Trifle– It’s October, which means it’s pumpkin season. For a different way to get pumpkin into your dessert, give this trifle a try.

Beet Cake– These are two words that you haven’t seen paired before. Now is the time to give it a try. The beet not only gives the cake a nice purple hue, it also adds a nice savory note, much like a carrot cake.

Carrot Cupcakes– Sometimes you want to eat your dessert with a fork; other times you want to eat with your hands. Make these carrot cupcakes, and you’ll need no utensils.

Pumpkin Bread Pudding– Again, it’s pumpkin season, so it’s essential to end this list with a second pumpkin recipe. Sweet, tender, and best served warm, it’s a great way to end a cool fall day.

All right, choose your veggie, then make your dessert. You then can consider yourself a well-rounded diner.
