Spiced Pear and Cranberry Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup diced pear
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • Glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F
  • Combine butter and both sugars in the bowl of a stand mixer.
  • Mix on speed 2 for 4 minutes.
  • Add egg, mixing until incorporated, scraping sides, if necessary.
  • Add vanilla, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and flour, mixing until combined.
  • Add pear, walnuts, and cranberries to dough, stirring until combined.
  • Refrigerate dough for 30 minutes.
  • Scoop heaping teaspoon of dough onto parchment paper-lined tray.
  • Bake for 12-14 minutes.
  • Allow to cool for 2 minutes on tray, then transfer to baking rack to cool completely.
