It really is the simplest of things to make, but for him it makes his bagel so much better. While I don’t eat many bagels, I can see why the addition of cinnamon makes such a difference. Plain bagel + plain cream cheese = boring. Requiring only a bit of stirring, there’s no reason to object to making “special” cream cheese for him, and any of his siblings that are interested.
Yes, I’m sure you could buy a tub of cinnamon cream cheese in the dairy section, but why bother? Making your own will save money and will eliminate the need to have multiple tubs of cream cheese in the fridge in order to please all of your family.
- 3 Tb. sugar
- 1 Tb. cinnamon
- 2 oz. cream cheese
- In a small resealable container, combine sugar and cinnamon.
- Put cream cheese in a small bowl, and sprinkle with 1-2 teaspoons of cinnamon-sugar mixture (depending on how much flavor you prefer).
- Stir well to combine. Spread on bagel.
- Remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture can be saved for future cream cheese mixtures or toast.
