Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups milk (I use skim)
- 2 eggs
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions
- Heat waffle maker, per owner’s manual.
- In an 8-cup measuring cup, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a 4-cup measuring cup, whisk together milk, eggs, cooled melted butter, and vanilla.
- Make a well in the dry ingredients and add the wet ingredients.
- Stir until just moistened. (Batter will be lumpy.)
- Pour batter into lightly greased waffle maker, and bake according to manufacturer’s instructions. When waffle is ready, serve immediately. (Waffles lose their crunchiness if stacked while waiting to serve.)
- Top with butter and syrup, chocolate chips, or fresh strawberries or kiwi fruit and whipped cream.
Notes
- Makes 6-8 waffles, depending on the size of your waffle maker.
