Wrapping up this week of spherically shaped appetizers, I have one for him and one for her. Of course, they aren’t truly meant for just for me or my husband; we both are open-minded eaters. However, if given a preference, I definitely would choose one, and he would choose the other.
Let’s get to the recipes!
Broccoli “Meat”balls- A Delicious Oxymoron
There is no meat in this recipe. It’s all about the broccoli. However, the broccoli has been finely chopped in a food processor, so it takes on a texture that is totally different than what you’re used to. With the help of some cheddar cheese and garlic, these veggie balls are all sorts of deliciousness!
Cheesy Sausage Balls- A Whole New Spin on Meatballs
If you’re making meatballs, you’re probably using some sort of ground meat, be it beef, pork veal, chicken, or turkey. However, another option to consider is Italian sausage. The beautiful thing about sausage is that it is already full of flavor, so a good amount of the prep work is done for you. Try this sausage ball recipe, and see what you’ve been missing.
If you’re wondering how to choose between these two recipe, I’d suggest making both. Leftover meatballs are a lovely thing to find in your refrigerator when you’re seeking a snack or lunch solution.
PS- Can you figure out which recipe above was mine and which was my husband’s? Let me know in the comments.
