Chocolate is a favorite. Here’s a slightly different take on plain chocolate, one which gets a bit of an edge from cream cheese. It’s also straightforward and quick, requiring no cooking other than the melting of the chocolate.
Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting

Ingredients
- 3 ozs. unsweetened baking chocolate
- 8 ozs. cream cheese, at room temperature
- 1 tbsp. milk
- 1 lb. confectioners’ sugar, sifted
- A few grains of salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
Instructions
- Melt the chocolate by the method of your choice, either in a microwave or over simmering water
- Cool slightly
- While the chocolate is melting, mix together the cream cheese, milk, and sugar until well blended and all the lumps are removed
- After the chocolate has cooled a bit, add it to the cream cheese along with the salt and vanilla extract
